If you love a zesty, homemade Italian dressing that goes with just about anything, then this apple cider vinegar dressing recipe is one to keep in your back pocket.

    Italian dressing in a bowl.

This apple cider dressing which is bright from fresh lemon juice, is balanced with a little sugar, and herbs like oregano and thyme.

Dijon mustard and garlic pull it all together, and a good drizzle of olive oil gives it that classic, silky finish.

why you will love this recipe

    • It's easy to make.
    • Similar to our Greek yogurt tahini dressing, this recipe uses readily available ingredients.
    • Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan.
    • Cost-friendly.

    what you will need

This recipe is very similar to the Italian dressing I use for my black bean dip - just without the honey. It also uses apple cider vinegar, instead of red wine vinegar.

    You will need:-

    • lemon juice.
    • apple cider vinegar.
    • dijon mustard - Most brands of Dijon mustard use ingredients like mustard seeds, vinegar, and spices, which are inherently gluten-free. Check the product label to ensure no gluten-containing ingredients have been added, if you have a gluten allergy or intolerance:
    • dried oregano.
    • dried thyme.
    • 1 clove minced garlic.
    • sugar.
    • olive oil.
    • salt and pepper to taste.
    Apple cider Italian dressing ingredients.

    how to make it

Add all the dressing ingredients to a jar, seal tightly, and shake until well combined.

    storage

Store this salad dressing in a clean, airtight jar or bottle in the fridge for up to one week.

The oil may solidify slightly when chilled, so just let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes and give it a good shake before using.
