If you love having overnight oats for breakfast, I recommend making this quinoa overnight oats recipe.

Quinoa overnight oats in a glass jar topped with nut butter and chopped nuts, with a spoon.

This recipe is very similar to my apple cinnamon overnight oats and mango overnight oats, but with the addition of quinoa.

It is perfect for breakfast and great for meal prep.

    ingredients

    Quinoa overnight oats ingredients.
    • Rolled oats - Rolled oats soften nicely overnight without turning mushy.
    • Milk of choice.
    • Cooked quinoa - These make the oats more filling and also add some texture. Use plain, cooked quinoa that has cooled completely.
    • Greek yogurt- You can use full fat or low fat yogurt.
    • Chia seeds.
    • Maple syrup - or your preferred sweetender.
    • A pinch of salt - to balance the sweetness.

how to make quinoa overnight oats

Add all the ingredients to a jar or bowl and stir until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, until the oats are soft and creamy.

Stir, add a splash of milk if needed to adjust the consistency, add toppings, and serve.

    serving suggestions

    • Berries or sliced fresh fruit.
    • Nut butter.
    • Sprinkle crushed nuts and seeds on top.
    • It also tastes great topped with some quinoa flakes.
    • Stir in some protein powder for some extra protein.

    good to know

    • Use cooked, cooled quinoa so it blends well into the oats.
    • For meal prep, simply increase the servings, portion into individual jars, and store in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
    • Keep toppings separate until serving for the best texture.
